What could possibly be more exciting than watching massive trucks racing and flying around doing tricks? It's an exhilarating experience that even the softest of souls will find exciting. And with each truck decked out as best as they can be, it's hard not to love this unique sport. Whether you're a lifelong fan or just getting into things, here are 20 of the coolest monster trucks ever built. You'll be in awe of what's out there!

1. Mohawk Warrior

Driven by plenty of famous drivers throughout its lifetime such as Bryce Kenny and BJ Johnson, the Mohawk Warrior has always been a crowd favorite that really got everyone roaring. With its iconic black and purple design complete with a mohawk on top, its edgy look always made it stand out. Though it originally made its debut at the Monster Jam World Finals XI way back in 2010, everyone still loves it to this day.

2. Grave Digger

Quite possibly the greatest monster truck ever created, the Grave Digger has won numerous championships and is easily one of the most decorated in history. Despite being first built from a mix of scrap parts and a 1951 Chevy Panel Wagon, its look is now considered iconic. With its purple and green colors, intense paint scheme, and memorable glowing red eyes, the Grave Digger truly was and is a beast at every competition.

3. El Toro Loco

With its bright red paint, fiery orange flames, and pointy horns, the El Toro Loco certainly has an appearance that lives up to its flashy name. First debuting back in 2001, this beast managed to win a championship title just a few years later. What people love the most about this monster truck is its distinct design which gives it so much personality; it's hard standing out in the world of monster trucks but the El Toro Loco is one crazy bull that can't be tamed.

4. Dragon

Seriously, is there any monster truck cooler than this one? Aptly named Dragon, this green-scaled, pointy-horned, and spiky-backed truck is something straight out of a fairy tale. For anyone who loves the mystical and the magical, this concept will definitely appeal to you. It's become a fan favorite over the years as people watch this beast soar and fly around in competitions.

5. Maximum Destruction

Also known in short as Max-D, this fierce monster truck was built for chaos. Created by Tom Meents in the early 2000s, this truck has since built itself a reputation for its wild and crazy driving. Case in point, the Maximum Destruction is known for being the first to complete a successful backflip (driven by Tom Meents).

6. Bigfoot

After numerous modifications done on the original built by Bob Chandler back in 1975, the new and improved 1979 Bigfoot was seen as the first ever monster truck. Since then, it's gone on to become one of the most recognizable names in the game. Though it has seen many different iterations in its lifetime, the very first build will always be remembered and respected.

7. Madusa

A famous name in Monster Jam, the Madusa is a beloved truck both driven and inspired by Debra "Madusa" Miceli, a well-known WWE kickboxer. With its pretty pink and starry design, people loved seeing this dainty-looking truck do some serious damage in competitions. And with two world championship titles under its belt, it's definitely a force to be reckoned with.

8. Monster Mutt

Living up to its name, the Monster Mutt is a deviously designed, dog-themed monster truck that has become a favorite for many since its debut. With a set of ears, tail, and tongue all added to really go all out for their theme, sometimes officials will even throw a bone into the arena before the Monster Mutt starts its freestyle run.

9. Raminator

One look at this truck and you can easily see how powerful it is. Definitely one to be feared, the Raminator is best known for its insane horsepower engine.

So much so that it's best remembered as the beast that finally ended the Bigfoot's dominance in multiple events.

10. Predator

If there are dog-themed monster trucks, it only makes sense for there to be cat-themed ones too, right? Known for modeling their trucks after dangerous cats like panthers and tigers, the Predator is beloved in Monster Jam. Its owner and main driver, Allen Pezo is also considered one of the best freestylers in the world - his wildly huge jumps will get your blood pumping.

11. Avenger

Winning the freestyle championship title in both 2003 and 2011, the Avenger is no truck to laugh at. With its bold green paint, this monstrous ride, handled by Jim Koehler, has repeatedly won "Fan Favorite" at numerous events. People just loved watching the high jumps and insane damage dealt by this truck in freestyle competitions.

12. JCB DIGatron

Looking half like a backhoe loader and half like a monster on wheels, the JCB DIGatron wins our vote for most unique-looking monster truck. Possibly the newest on this list, it first made its debut earlier this year in 2024 with Tristan England in the driver's seat. We're certain this awesome truck will continue to make history.

13. Shaker 

The Shaker might have a pretty plain name, but it's anything but that.

Rebranded from the "Saigon Shaker" in 2023, this new and improved monster truck is driven by Ryan Disharoon, an extremely talented driver in the sport.

14. Backwards Bob

This name might confuse you initially, but once you realize this monster truck was mounted in reverse, it all makes sense as you watch the cool illusion of the driver seemingly going backwards. It's certainly a unique approach, giving this truck a standout characteristic. Hilariously, no one who has ever driven this ride was named "Bob" though.

15. Black Pearl

Making its first appearance in 2017, the Black Pearl has since garnered a large fan base. Familiarly named after the iconic ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, its pirate-themed paint job is a stunner. And with this truck constantly making highlight reels due to its dangerous crashes and exhilarating tricks and stunts, it's simply a hard one to forget.

16. Obsessed

It's safe to say everyone is pretty obsessed with this blue and yellow monster truck! Raced and handled by Eric Swanson who is the son of the owner, this impressive truck has been around since 2011. Though its received many new paint schemes and changes over the years, it's continued to participate in numerous monster truck events annually.

17. Captain's Curse

Not only does the Captain's Curse have an incredibly cool name, its pirate-themed design perfectly completes its personality.

With a giant flag waving in the back and an angry pirate sketched onto its side, we miss seeing this awesome truck since its retirement in 2016. But we'll always be happy reliving its numerous Monster Jam World Finals appearances.

18. Blacksmith

You can never go wrong with some hot flames painted across your car! Though the Blacksmith has since been retired around 2007, it's not one people will easily forget. As one of the first Monster Jam trucks to use a 1941 Willy's truck as its body, it'll always be remembered as an icon. Not to mention, in World Finals 4 and 5, it was the only one to ever hit the balloons in consecutive years.

19. Blue Thunder

With a name as awesome as that, how could you ever hate it? This 2008 Ford F-150 truck made waves when it first debuted back in 2001. Everyone loved its fun blue paint and lightning patterns that made it hard to miss as it did crazy tricks. It's been driven by many famous drivers in the past, including Lyle Hancock, Todd LeDuc, and Matt Cody. Though it's currently on an indefinite break, we hope to see the Blue Thunder back in action soon.

20. Alien Invasion

A once regular contender at Monster Jam, fans absolutely loved the futuristic look of Alien Invasion.

And with so many green LED lights installed throughout, it's impossible to miss this monster truck as it performed thrilling tricks and jumps. Though it's now sadly retired, we'll never forget it.
