10 Car Models Most Likely To Get Pulled Over and 10 Least Likely
Some Cars Are Built For Speed & Others Really Aren't
It's the driver that gets the ticket, not the car. However, some cars aren't doing you any favors. Whether it's because they're just too fun to drive or because of their reputation among speedsters, certain cars stand out like a sore thumb to cops. However, other models which are known for their conservative drivers, weak engines, and unassuming design will always fly under the radar. Here are the 10 cars most likely to get pulled over and the 10 least likely.
1. Subaru WRX
The Subaru WRX with its rally-inspired design attracts speed lovers which has the unfortunate side effect of attracting traffic tickets as well. This model gets 49 percent more speeding tickets than the national average.
2. Scion FR-S
The Scion FR-S is a sweet rear-wheel drive coupe known for its handling and ability to drift. As a result, police seem to have a keen eye on them as drivers of this car get over 40 percent more speeding tickets than average.

3. Nissan 350Z
The Nissan 350Z is a zippy sports car with a low price tag, contributing to its widespread appeal. However, drivers of this car are getting over 30 percent more traffic tickets than the average, adding a significant cost to that reasonable price tag.

4. Volkswagen Golf GTI
Although this hatchback doesn't have the aerodynamic body of a classic sports car, its 241-horsepower engine packs a serious punch. With that kind of power, it can be hard to take it slow. As a result, Golf drivers receive 36 percent more speeding tickets than the average.
5. Mazda3
Mazda's slogan is "zoom zoom" for a reason. Although unassuming in look, the Mazda3 is well known for its responsive handling making it a fun car to drive. It receives 42 percent more traffic tickets than the national average.
6. Hyundai Genesis
Thanks to its V6 engine, this powerful little coupe gets a whopping 45 percent more traffic tickets than the national average. Since it was discontinued in 2016, the Genesis has gained a cult following among speedsters, existing in a league all its own.
7. Kia Stinger
With its twin-turbo V6 engine and its muscle car design, it's hard not to put the pedal to the metal when driving the Kia Stinger. It's 43 percent more likely to get pulled over than the average car.
8. Dodge Charger
The Dodge Charger has the look and feel of a classic American muscle car which attracts a certain type of driver. What's more, it has a roaring 300 horsepower V6 engine which gets over 32 percent of Dodge Charger drivers pulled over.
9. Subaru Impreza
Although not as zippy as the WRX, the Impreza still sees 36 percent more speeding tickets than the national average. It's known for its sporty all-wheel-drive handling.
10. Scion tC
Although not nearly as bad an offender as its much sportier cousin, the FR-S, still almost 16 percent of Scion tC drivers get caught speeding. Although the FR-S is faster, the Scion has better torque, making it still pretty appealing to speedsters.
Now that we've gone over the worst offenders on the road, let's talk about the inconspicuous rides that "safe" drivers tend to go for.
1. Lexus IS350
The Lexus IS350 is one of the most conservative drives on the road, with only about 3 percent of its owners getting speeding tickets. Lexus is known for making luxurious cars so we can only guess it's so comfortable in there, drivers are never in a rush to get out.
2. Acura ILX
The Acura ILX has one of the slower engines in its league, so it makes sense that it attracts drivers who don't care much for speed. Its subtle design also helps keep it under the radar and out of trouble, with only around 5 percent of drivers receiving speeding tickets.
3. Buick Encore
Far from a speed powerhouse, the Buick Encore is equipped with a dismal 138 horsepower. This likely isn't a problem for its drivers who are an average age of 58 and are probably more interested in having a practical car that can comfortably taxi their families around. Only 3 percent of Encore drivers have received traffic tickets.
4. Chevrolet Express
The Chevrolet Express is one of the most popular commercial vehicles in the US, so it's no surprise it's one of the least ticketed cars out there. Its drivers need to obey speed laws if they want to keep their jobs.
5. Cadillac Escalade
When was the last time you saw an Escalade driver in a hurry? This maxi-sized SUV is for cruising. Not to mention, it's a beast and it requires all its engine's 480 horsepower to get it moving.
6. Audi A3
The Audi A3 is known for its dynamic handling and powerful engine so it's a bit puzzling to see it on this side of the list. It may be because most of its owners are city drivers who barely spend any time on the open road or maybe it's the car's conservative design aesthetic, but it's one of the least-ticketed cars.
7. Land Rover Range Rover
Speed is not generally what comes to mind when talking about luxury SUVs, and the Range Rover is no exception. Despite its 550 horsepower engine, it seems Range Rover drivers just don't care to go fast with only 10 percent of them receiving traffic tickets.
8. Cadillac ATS
Despite its quick acceleration and dynamic handling, the Cadillac ATS is one of the least-ticketed cars on the road. Only 6 percent of drivers have received tickets.
9. BMW 320i
The BMW 320i has a 180 horsepower engine which doesn't lend itself to speed quite like other BMWs. As a result, it's one of the least-ticketed rides on the road.
10. GMC Savana
Like the Chevrolet Express, most GMC Savanas are used for commercial purposes. What's more, it's a massive beast of a car that would be hard to speed in if you tried.
